Im looking for a dive watch and the only beanr my LDS carys is suunto. While the appearance is very nice, and there is remote air integration which i really like, we're looking around 1200 plus taxes if i recall correctly.

I would like a computer which i can wear as a watch, but air integration and being able to electronically store my logs on my computer (PC) is something else i would like.

I really dont know much about brand names, so if you please, share your knowledge!!! Let me know what to stay away from, and what is fairly priced!

Thanks all!

My local dive shop has the Suunto D9 which i think is really sleek, but rather expensive... thoughts on this wlaso would be great. thank you!

Are you looking for a dive watch or a dive computer that is about the size of a watch? Two different animals here.

If you were to want to look for a dive computer that is about the same size as a watch and can function as a watch then there is the Aeris Epic DiveAeris.com - Scuba Diving Computers - Epic Hoseless Dive Computer Watch
or its sister equivalence Atom 2.0 from Oceanic Oceanic Worldwide - Personal Dive Computers - Atom 2.0 Wristwatch

Same thing, different name. Both retail around $1000 but you can negotiate with your local shop or get on-line for less.

If you were to want to buy a dive watch, they can range anywhere between $100 (Reactor brand) all the way to $10,000 (Rolex gold Submariner). Some dive watches are almost as complex as a dive computer (Citizen Aqualand). Some are just plain jane watches that are waterproofed down to 100-meter or 10,000-meters.

for cheaper suunto gear check out scubastore.com

though I dont know if you are looking for a watch that can go on dives, a dive computer, or a hybrid.

for a watch check out citizen (ebay).

Sorry for the miscomunication; what i am lookign for is a dive computer that can function as a watch out of water, like the d9, but if i can find soemthing thats just as good but less expensive that would be nice :)

So, sofar on the list im looking at the atom/epic and the suunto d9. I see the d9 has the elec compass. Does anyone have any experiance with any of the three computers? The d9 compass looks like a nice feature, but i suppose you have a real one on your gauges anyways. Seems like a d9 costs 1200 on ebay, any less expensive locations?

I think Oceanic makes a pretty good one too. The Atom. I think it is significantly less than $1000 but I am not sure what functions it has.

I'll state the obvious in case it isn't obvious and point out that if you cut out the air integration feature the price will be more like $400 and will still have computer logging features.

I like my Cyber Aqualand NX from Citizen. It is air and nitrox and logs 150 or so dives depending on their duration. It does duration timing, countdown timing and allows dive palnning. It also does skin dive logging. It allows you to upload using a cable or IR. It also is rechargeable.

I'll second the Citizen Cyber Aqualand NX. I really like mine. I also like not having any wires to download the dive data to my computer. Also saves about $100 not having to buy a USB download cable if you have an IR port on your computer. The charger for the watch takes AA batteries, so it doesn't matter if you're near a power outlet or not. It doesn't have Air Integration though, so if you really want that, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Another note, I don't really trust an electronic compass. Just get yourself a Suunto SK7, hands down the best dive compass there is.
