take to a seamstress and have them alter the suit to fit in the length, then go to a shoe repair place and have them re-sew it together in the ankles(they have the proper machines to go thru neoprene) Make sure to cantact both before you start to make sure you find someone that can do it

The other suggestions as you mentioned roll it up- wont be the most comfy or effective for warmth, but will work.

Or buy a Short size wetsuit- Im sure you dont want to since you already have one, but they are available by Pinnacle

Folding the suit is OK but it's not the correct thing to do. Most people do not fit ideally into a stock suit, so your situation is very common. You can’t just cut off the excess because then the ankle will be too big, because what was once the calf is now at your ankle. The best thing to do is take it some where that dose wetsuit repair. They will be able to shorten the suit and take it in at the bottom of the leg for a better fit. Sometimes it pays just to go custom and not worry about the little differences in our bodies. I know that Wetwear in South Florida dose these types of alterations….check them out.

Typically, the little bit that you take off to shorten(couple inches) Isnt going to make that big of a difference once you put the ankle seal back on the suit

The ankle of the suit needs to fit snug. If you took a measurement of your ankle and then took a measurement a few inches up, you would see that it would be larger. Wetsuits are tapered the same way. I would have to agree with girlgonediving on this one! Get it shortened by a professional....is shouldn't cost that much and it will be done right.

Have you checked out the increase in UPS!!! If you sent your suit off to have something so very minor done, you would pay a forture in shipping cost. You should be able to have something done locally. Dive right gave excellant advise.

Check the Postal Service rates before you ship anything, they don't have the fuel surcharges the other carriers have.

I believe Welcome to Terrapin Wet Suits can do alterations but don't quote me on that.

Well save yourself the hassle of shipping and overinflated prices by simply visiting your local cobbler. Our guy has replaced knee pads, replaced or installed zippers (using YKK zippers), and done a multitude of alterations for our dive club.
Hope that this helps everyone.
