As I consider a replacement for my now dead 256MB SD card, I was wondering if the 1GB SD card limit for the Reefmaster camera was based on just tested sized cards? or is that it will not physically read anything above 1GB?

Inquiring minds want to know...

On this post Denise said....
For the ReefMaster Mini, SeaLife recommends using a 1 GB SD memory card which will take about 300 hi-res images or ½ hour of video. Our tests with larger memory cards, like a 2GB (SD) indicate no compatibility problem, however we have experienced problems using 4 GB (SDHC).

The site doesn't seem to give final answers. The specs on my DC500 SeaLife Cameras - Underwater Cameras | Digital Camera Technical Specifications say External: SD card up to 512mb but it does accept up to 2 gb.

Most stores will let you test the card in the camera before you buy it. I got my last one at Walmart.com for $10, but used store delivery to avoid shipping and they let me test it.

Don we have used the 2gb card with the DC500 and had no problems! The only draw back is the write time slows at the end of the bigger card slowing the cycle time of the shutter.... You should have no problems using a 2gb card! Just down load as often as you can! It uses a FAT 32 file system and you will be fine!

32? Bah, my camera is so awesome, it's got more than twice as many FATS as that; it's got 50.

2x32=64 no 50! Good math! I know where my tax money went now! Thanks!:D

I didn't say x2. I said *more than* twice as many.

Yeah we covered that the other day on the linked thread.

Maybe he'll get it tomorrow?

Wow! :11: 1 gb for $5.35 delivered, 2 for $9.75.

I don't have a camera or a card reader that will accept a HC card.
