I'll be staying at the Palau Pacific hotel for a week. Are there any restaurants nearby, or within cab range? I'd like to eat in the local places rather than the hotel if possible.
Thanks,
DMdoogie

be sure to visit The Taj, an Indian restaurant, with awesome food. Yummmmmm. They have a huge menu with entrees to suit anyone, including lots of vegetarian dishes.

The dive shop at Fish-n-Fins has a little cafe with a good variety of food including a special each day. We had lunch there and really enjoyed it.

Palau Pacific Resort is a bit farther out, but you can get a taxi to anyplace for not too much $$.

I second the The Taj less than a 5$ cab ride from PPR, but the whole island is less than a 10$ cab ride away. The PPR has good food but very pricy $$ Cramers is another good place try the coconut crab and the fruit bat a local treat.

Everywhere in Koror is a cab ride away, and the cab will only cost between $2 and $7. Don't let them try to charge you more than that.

1. Elilie (sp? pronounced L - E - LIE) is a great new resturant with an awesome view and very close to the PPR (palau pacific resort). Japanese food, $10 - $15 for lunch.

2. Kramer's is great place to eat, and a great place to get a drink at night. Seafood, and all sorts of other food.

3. The Taj, as noted, has good Indian food.

4. Dragon Tai has good real japanese food.

5. At night, Captain Fin's, at the Waterfront Villa makes some good dishes.

6. Sam's has a bar and Grill, as does Neco's. Both make good food, and are a good place to unwind after a dive. You don't have to have dived with them to eat there, of course.

There's a Thai place, which isn't much to look at but the food is okay.

If you're on a budget (which if you're staying at the PPR you're probably not) a hidden treat is "Sarah's Yum Yum" or good old pizza from the Rock Island Cafe.

The Taj is the best- good food, cold a/c, clean, reasonable prices

As for Dragon Tei, there is no A/C, so it was very HOT inside. There were so many people smoking that the whole place was thick with cigarette smoke. In all fairness, I have read many favorable reviews for the place, but I would not go back.

Rock Island cafe is great for cheap breakfast and there were a lot of locals eating there. I even bought a really beautiful storyboard there.

Enjoy your trip!

I enjoy the following
1. Taj-Butter Chicken it is great and I do not like Indian food!
2. Kramer's-Tues nite spaghetti nite!
3. Dragon Tai-great food
4. Sams Bottom time bar and grill....about 5pm fresh Sushi!
