NO CELL PHONES ON AIRPLANES!!! ok not for security purposes I just don't want to listen to the 350 conversations going on at the same time. If they do allow cell phones on airplanes I will have an excuse to invest in noise canceling headphones.

Amen, its bad enough to have to listen to someone tapping away on their laptop keyboard much less yapping on a cell phone when I trapped next to them.

Sorry Don but I have no sympathy for her. It drives me crazy in this post 9-11 era that people don't familiarize themselves with TSA rules before they fly. No body forced her to remove her piercings. She had the option to not fly.

This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life.

But since I believe in personal freedom, a right that sets America apart from other third world crapholes, you're allowed to voice the drivel.

IMHO this incident was a sexually motivated assault on an innocent traveler.

Good day.

Crying babies, obnoxious announcements.....I say break down and get them..it's an investment I doubt you will regret. It makes me a nicer person.

I rather agree with

and I usually fall on the personal freedom side of the issues. Look, there is a practical limit to how high maintenance each given individual can really afford to be in these situations! It is the same deal for all those "special meal" people.....at some point you just cannot accomodate all this nonsense and still keep the airports moving along.

But then, honestly, I am repulsed by all that piercing crap, so I am probably biased against her. Nothing bothers me more than to be forced to look at a person that has stuck metal bolts through their nose and lips and tongue.
There is something too overtly attention demanding about it.

I still think it is a cash grab ploy.

Good thing I keep my nipple tucked neatly under my shirt. I wouldn't want to force anyone to look at it, disgusting as it is.

yea, you can show it to whoever you like that way.

The only reason people do this stuff, in the first place, is to be in everybody else's face, from what I can tell. Why else would you do it? 1) pay money 2) pain 3) = something everybody now has to look at.. Everybody says it is so "personal" but I don't get it.
People that do that stuff want to look/be "bad" and then when they get that reaction they cry foul.

I actually had it done so I had a place to hang my keys when I'm out diving ;) ...

In truth I got it to mark a milestone. I went with a piercing over a tattoo because I knew as I got older I may want to remove it.

I wouldn't really mind taking it out if the situation called for it. It's neither difficult nor painful (with the proper tools). I think it would be a very weird situation if the TSA was telling me to remove it, but I'm a fairly frequent traveler so the craziness doesn't get to me all that much*

*Though I have witnessed a guy yelling at a gate agent because there was a thunderstorm preventing the departure of his plane.... "just put me on another flight"... right, the one that leaves from the side of the airport without the lightning.

On and I definitely agree with the noise canceling headphones... worth their weight in gold.

Sometimes they yell at me and make me take them off, like security. kidding...but the sky hags have started asking me to listen to the safety briefing.

good call. Who wants to be in a nursing home with ink? That's all I need a shriveled up scorpion or shark on my saggy butt. Me and Gloria Alred are going to go for the big diamond approach to superior care, he he. ...and don't take those meds.

I just want to know how HUGE this nipple-ring had to be to set off the alarm. :lotsalove: I have worn jewelry, lots of rings and necklaces through without a single blip. It just makes me think she had more in her bra than a little stud. :11:

I still like MissDirected story about having to take her shirt "jacket" off wearing only a bra camisole. I think of that every time I dress for the airport now and avoid any confusing garments for those guys.

...and of course the girl can tell a funny story.

On our last flight in Indo we saw this screen thing with a table and rubber gloves and we just made a face at each other we were so scared.

But, DandyDon, you have to use some regional sense too. I mean Lubbock, Texas? I love Texas but you have to be aware of where you are too. I wouldn't fly into UAE wearing the stuff I wear here. I'd probably drive the speed limit in Lubbock too.
