Hey all! I'll be on the island from 18th to 23rd. I'm just doing some solo diving and exploring. Give me a shout if you wanna hang out and get a beer in the evening.

Looking forward to giving a report afterwards :)

Cheers 🤙

June 28 - July 5 w/ 3 divers total. We like staying in town and have an AirBnB close to the main square.
Who will you dive with? Our family has one diver and blue Angel only running one boat per day. We need to find a larger group to join

BA will usually send out a second boat if you can recruit two more divers.

@Scuba_Jenny and @reddiver970 how was the whale shark excursion? I would love to do it. I'm just not a fan if it's a boat orgy around the poor whales.
It is a boat orgy. Long trip out in small boats. About 8 persons plus crew. No guarantee on sightings.
We set it up through the travel agent so everything was set up (bay adventures) . You can also take the ferry to Cancun.
From Coz take the 6:30 ferry to Playa De Carmen, tour guide picked us up and drove the 1:20 to Cancun. Get on boat. Sit and wait for 30 plus miles. Look for sharks. Be ready to jump in a s a p. We were lucky and first in and saw two. By the time we got back on the boat, there were at least twenty five other boats nearby. Then the search continued for the sharks.
They really try to limit too many people in the water at any given time, so if you're in the right spot at the right time, you get to get in. Of the seven of us on our boat, two never got in the water. The sharks went deep and never saw them again.
Granted, it is still kinda early in the season. We hung out for another hour, looking for them. And eventually left.
I probably would have a more positive experience if there were more sharks and more opportunities to jump in the water, but it just wasn't that day. I've heard of plenty of people having fantastic experiences.
Overall, I'd say it's a one and done. And i've heard it's a better, more natural experience than in the philippines, where they bait the water, and it's a CF with sixty people in the water at the same time.
Also, it's very deep water, makes sure everything is attached securely. My buddy had a GoPro in her hand and the guide yanked her away from the boat, and in that moment of !!!?!!, she let go of the gopro...
