Hmmm how about you drive the 2 hours 45 minutes and buy the first house you see
and then every 3 yrs, if you need a service, you can walk your regs around the corner

Imagine if you built a house next door and installed a long long chute

For warm water recreational diving, you honestly can't go wrong with just about any regulator on the market. If absolute reliability and performance exceeding your typical dive profile is wanted, I suggest a SP Mk25 EVO / G260. It is overkill for sure, but a balanced piston first stage like the MK25 is basically bulletproof, and SP can be serviced anywhere in the world.

Thanks to everyone for their opinions.

I'm going with the Deep6 Signature. Their stage 1 is currently back ordered; waiting for a response from customer service for ETA.

As soon as it's back in stock, I'm ordering stage 1, secondary, octo and service kits for stage 1 and secondary from them.

Already ordered hoses from XScuba, and another SPG from TUSA - because that's the setup I have on my existing rig - and I like it. Although I did go with a BLUE inflator hose to match my BC :)

I figure this way the only thing I'm taking off of my existing rig is the sending unit to my DC. I can bring my existing rig when traveling locally as a backup; and the service kits no matter where I am.

I'm biased since I like my Deep6, but here's something else to consider. The deep6 hoses are a little different from the standard rubber scuba hoses. They seem a bit "softer" and have a little more flex. I prefer them to standard rubber hoses. On the other hand, if you've got something you know already works, then sometimes simpler is better.

But the most important question ... what colors for your 2nd stages???

I went with black and orange as well.

One item you might want to confirm. Each stage comes with a service kit for free, at least it did when I bought mine. Your first service is then free at 2 years, as long as you send the reg in WITH the free service kits they came with.

When I bought my full set it came with 3 service kits (1 1st and 2 2nds).

Black and orange are the worst possible colors you could get. But apparently, I'm not good with colors, because those are the ones I chose! :rofl3:

I just got two more signature second stages from Deep6, they came with service kits.
