My wife and I like to do things top side other than dive. What are some of the best places to go that have neat things to see on the land. I know Belize and costa rica have the jungles. Not a big fan of noisy, smoky, clubs full of drunk people. I bartended too long. Nassau has its straw market, but that gets old quickly.

So where to go.... and what to see.... Keep it in the carribean area... can't afford crossing the big oceans yet.

Hi Tom,

If its nature-oriented topside you want along with decent diving in the greater Caribbean, I heartily recommend Dominica. Rain forests, waterfalls, boiling lakes, native villages, bird-watching, etc.

Costa Rica also has excellent ecotourism, especially down the Osa Peninsula, although diving in the area, e.g., Guanacaste coast in the north, Cano Island in the south, is very iffy vis, surface conditions & critter wise.

Best of luck.

Thanks Doc, :D

I have heard Costa rica can be questionable on diving. I would love to hear the howler monkeys some time though. I also get nervous when I hear the government is a little shaky. Whats top side like in Cayman, Virgin Islands, Bonair, etc.... come on yall speak up....
