Warm water, awesome visibility year round is just the start.
No need for a boat trip as the shore diving gets you to the deep wall (50'- 4,000') in just an 6 -10 minute swim. Then to be able to complete a 60 minute deco stop on a beautiful reef makes the deco time fly by.
I just love going into the sponge belt between the 200' - 300' range. The sponges, sea wipes and coral formations are just grand. Then the marine life is abundant with hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles and huge snappers in your face.
Cave dive that starts at 300' and runs parallel to the deep wall called ****y Town.
Then you can take a boat trip to a deep wreck (180' - 260') called the Carrie Lee. I like to drop off the wall at 260' to 330' and look up and see about 50' of the bow hanging off the deep wall.
Then there is another boat trip to a deep site called Sand Chute, which is great but the best part is the deco on the 250' long USS Kittiwake artificial reef which the bottom is 60' and the top of ship at 10'. What a great way to blow off your deco time.
The plane flight is just one hour from Miami and they also have non-stops from NY, Chicago, Houston, Tampa, Atlanta and etc.
There is no need to travel with any tanks as Divetech provides all support for open circuit twins and any size stage bottles. For rebreather divers there is support again for any size/style bottle and all sorb.
There are also special technical events like Innerspace in May and Tek Week in August which up to 60 tek divers attending from all over the world.
If you need a tek buddy they have 10 staff instructors that can be hired for your technical adventure.
Warm water, great vis, close to home.
