well on my sd790 is the strobe can create a bit more backscatter than in my intova ic800. maybe this is because i cant set my shutter speed in the canon ( the intova is set to 1/125). i suggest you set the shutter to the same levels or faster to minimize backscatter. my workaround was to move the strobe to the side and shoot using angle light instead of having the light headon which i could do with my inotva. ive had mixed success however, need to practice more.
also it seems that the diffuser of my canon blocks the strobe light sensor at certain angles. im thinking of removing it and replacing with tape. tell me how your experiences go.
