A word of warning...

I was in Sharm El Sheikh last week, paid a $400 bill at a dive centre. Credit card subsequently failed to work.

Explanation: Credit card company reasons that because I don't usually make transactions in the Middle East, must be fraudulent, so block the card! Very convenient. Luckily I had another card...

Presumably its a good idea to warn the card company before you go anywhere unusual!!!

We always decide which cards we are going to use before we go. Then we call and let them know where we're going to be and when. Haven't had a problem yet.
