a travel agent told us that air travel is a hassle due to some small airline going under this winter.

is this true?
is miami the usual U.S. take off point?

HI welcome to the scuba board. Your profile doesn't say where you are in Canada. So I can only help you in a limited way.
Go to www.expedia.com
Type in your city code and BON for Bonaire. Yes, the airport there is in Kralendijk, but the code is still BON.
You should get Air Jamaica and American. There are several ways to get there in a somewhat easy manner now.
Good Luck!

We live in a small town in northern candad. So departure
from canada is via winnipeg or toronto.
